Within the academy for independence, clients with an intellectual disability can develop further by following training or education
Who are we?
They are located in the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. At the academy for independence, clients with a mild intellectual disability can develop further by following training or education. They do this at their own pace and with their own way of learning. The clients come to the academy one half day per week. They can follow training courses here, take a course or receive homework support from an MBO course. They offer various training courses; reading and writing, digital skills, learning a cycle route in traffic, healthy food and cooking, car and scooter theory and much more. What do we ask?
We are looking for a volunteer(s) who would like to assist the trainers!
This can be within a group training, but also an individual training.
Depending on the training, you can sometimes also supervise this independently.
This always in collaboration with a trainer.
This way, the students receive more individual attention and support.
This has helped us a lot!
In consultation you will determine which training suits you best and which part of the day suits you best.
Are you enthusiastic, do you have patience and do you enjoy teaching or supporting people something new? Please contact the volunteer coordinator to get acquainted!

Thanks to the many volunteers from 'Heeren Loo, we can organize extra activities and provide personal attention and wishes for clients. Think of taking a walk, playing a game or just having a good conversation while enjoying a cup of coffee.
