The paper factory is a learning workplace where clients with intellectual disabilities make products for sale
Who are we?
In the middle of the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo is the paper factory. This is a learning workplace for clients with a mental disability, where products are made to sell. This is done on behalf of shops or other institutions and for the shop next to the paper factory; the Lookado. We make small gifts such as; vases of papier-mâché, cards, flags, paper flowers etc.
All clients who work there can do this (semi) independently. They choose from the common creative activities which skills they want to learn or maintain. They receive the desired support from permanent supervisors and volunteers. The paper factory consists of 2 groups with a permanent supervisor. We really like working with volunteers! At the moment we are still looking for a volunteer who can guide our clients in sewing products on the sewing machine. You will work together on new and current products and maintain the sewing machine together with the clients. Would you like to come and meet us? At the moment our building is being renovated and we will soon have a beautiful new space.
What are we asking?
We are looking for creative volunteers who want to help us in one of the two groups.
As a volunteer you work with clients with the sewing machine. You guide the clients in sewing products, learning to make new products and maintaining the sewing machines.
There is always a supervisor present in the group that you can fall back on.
Are you available 1 day or part day per week?

Think of taking a walk, playing a game or just having a good conversation while enjoying a cup of coffee.
