Helping children navigate the road or public transport: the Travel Suitcase

'De Reiskoffer' helps children who use student transport and go to school by taxi to learn to travel to school independently. Two digital tools (including an app) are used for this and the young person receives help from a supervisor during the part 'Traveling together with...' . We do not have a fixed location, as the counselors travel with the young people from home to school and back. We are looking for supervisors both nationally and for Velsen.

· For whom: You will help young people aged 12-18 learn to travel independently to their school.

· Method: You have an intake interview with us, after the intake interview we ask you for a reference and a Certificate of Good Conduct (this is mandatory because you will be traveling with a child).

After a reference check and receipt of a Certificate of Good Conduct, you will be introduced to De Reiskoffer's projects, you will receive training from a coach and you will be paired with a student in the nearest municipality with which we work.

After the match, you will have an introductory meeting with the parents, make agreements with them and guide one or more students in traveling to school independently.

During the period of guidance, you will have regular contact with the parents and child to evaluate how things are going. After about 5-6 weeks a child will be able to travel independently.
