Summary

Do you enjoy making sure that residents of the AZC feel at home and participate in Wageningen? Become a #meedoenbalie volunteer!

Detailed description

Every Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, you and a colleague will run the #meedoenbalie. This allows asylum seekers to participate in Wageningen society from day 1. By doing volunteer work, but also through social activities such as sports and coffee mornings in the city. They can also participate in language lessons to learn Dutch right away.

What will you do?

At the #meedoenbalie, you will talk with residents of the AZC every week, explain to them which (volunteer) activities they can register for and look together with the resident what is most suitable for them.

You will do this in a team of volunteers who speak different languages and live at the AZC.

You will often go around the AZC with a resident of the AZC to motivate people to participate.

You also help residents register via the website: ikdoemee.nl

Working hours:

Wednesday from 14:45 to 17:00.

What do we ask?

You can work in a culturally sensitive way, you speak English and you can handle a dynamic work environment. You can work independently. In addition, you participate in a 6-weekly team meeting before or after the #meedoenbalie on Monday afternoon.

What do we offer you?

A varied workplace in which you work independently. You will be properly trained. You can ask the project coordinator your questions. There is a 6-weekly team meeting where you can have your input. Twice a year we have a fun gathering to thank you and to meet other volunteers.
