Ahmed is a 34 year old man of Iraqi descent with a mild intellectual disability
Who is Ahmed?
Ahmed is a 34-year-old man with a moderate to mild intellectual disability; comparable to a 7-year-old. He lives in a residential group across the street from the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo, where he receives 24-hour supervision. Emotionally, he is comparable to a toddler. As a result, he needs safety, overview and clarity. He seeks out peace and quiet himself and withdraws. When he is doing well, he can smile or laugh at jokes or conversations that he overhears. He can communicate with spoken language and loves humor. He is fully mobile and enjoys gaming and cycling. Ahmed is of Dutch/Iraqi descent and adheres to the rules of Islam. He seems a bit shy, but once you know him for a while, he will ask more of you and dares to show initiative. During the day during the week, he goes to day care. He is free on Fridays and weekends. His supervisors will be happy to tell you more about him
What is Ahmed asking?
We are looking for a volunteer who will come to him about once a month. Preferably on a Friday or in the weekend, because then Ahmed has free time. Someone who will go cycling with him and let him escape the group pressure and stimuli for a while. Going out with a buddy. But gaming together is also on his wish list. Someone who has respect for his faith; Islam. Do you feel like having a moment with Ahmed once a month? Do you have the patience to let him get used to you? Then come and meet us soon without obligation!
