Summary
Because of his Down syndrome, he cannot go out alone and would like to do this with a buddyDetailed description
Who is Martin?
Maarten is a 62-year-old man with Down syndrome and an intellectual disability. He lives in a residential group near the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. He is a quiet, cheerful man who is in for a joke. He communicates with short sentences and he can tell how he feels and whether he likes something. Maarten can walk for 15 minutes and then he continues in his push wheelchair. It can be folded up in the car. Watching Gelderland TV is his biggest hobby. He also enjoys crafting, coloring and keeping scrapbooks. He really likes to go on holiday, days out, to the city or to grab a bite to eat. He really enjoys this!
What is Martin asking?
For Maarten we are looking for a volunteer (or a volunteer duo) who is open, cozy and has a sense of humor. Someone who can take him to the city, a nice outing, something to eat with him or to the church on the grounds of 's Heeren Loo. He also really appreciates doing something with music. His supervisors will tell you which outing he likes. In advance you discuss with the guidance what kind of budget there is for the outing.
The day, frequency and time are all negotiable. Once a month would be very nice.
Would you like to meet Maarten and his supervisors without obligation?
