Weststellingwerf has been a Fairtrade municipality since December 2014.
Fairtrade Municipality is an honorable title that indicates that a municipality pays a lot of attention to Fairtrade. From company to the café around the corner, from school to sports canteen, in the supermarket and clothing store.
The Fairtrade Municipal Campaign aims to increase the supply and demand of Fairtrade products.
In this way, efforts are made to achieve sustainable poverty reduction.
Fairtrade stands for fair trade. A working group of citizens is active in Weststellingwerf who support the local campaign as volunteers.
