Summary
Do you teach Dutch to migrants? Do you have questions about how to handle this? Then this 2-evening course is suitable for you.Detailed description
Learning Dutch as a second language by adults is very different from that by Dutch children. Many Dutch sounds are not only unknown, but often cannot be heard. How do you deal with that?
Learning Dutch by an illiterate person is very different from someone who can already read and write. During the course you will be given a simple exercise to test whether someone is already sufficiently literate.
When do you have a student read aloud or quietly? Which text should you choose?
How do you deal with cultural differences? Are you aware of how Dutch culture is viewed? And your role, do you choose a helping role or do you assume that the student has to do it themselves?
This course provides many tools and insights that you can apply immediately.
Trainer: Jan Cornelis is an NT2 teacher (Dutch as a 2nd Language) and intercultural communication trainer.
