About Het Nederlands Vestingmuseum
The Dutch Fortress Museum is a place where you can touch history. The museum is located on the Turfpoort bastion in Naarden-Vesting, the best-preserved fortified town in the Netherlands and even unique in Europe because of its star shape with double ramparts and canals. A collection of historic cannons and tools is exhibited in the outdoor area of this 17th-century, Unesco World Heritage Site. In four casemates you can read more about the importance and history of forts and fortresses in the Netherlands.
