Summary

You think, talk and decide on all kinds of matters, policy and organizational professionalization and innovation.

Detailed description

As secretary you are part of the five-member board of the foundation. You think, talk and decide on all kinds of matters, policy and organizational professionalization and innovation. You are very strong in organizing, preparing and reporting on meetings within the foundation. You also ensure that we do not forget agreements made because you always have an up-to-date overview and have properly recorded decisions and action points.

In addition to this permanent role, you are willing to respond to more topics within the foundation. For example, by visiting the distribution points on site every now and then so that you can see and understand for whom and how we do our important work. Or by going to the Dierenlot foundation on behalf of the board, or by collecting an occasional donation where you are the foundation's calling card in everything you do. Or by rolling up your sleeves and helping with an activity or event. You have a real hands-on commitment.

You are also curious about new developments in the field of animal food banks in the Netherlands and pet welfare in general. You bring up interesting developments. Within this position you have a lot of freedom and there is plenty of room to implement your new ideas within the foundation together with the rest of the board and the board support staff.

What responsibilities do you have?

  • Identifying important and/or potentially interesting developments within the industry and work area and subsequently translating these into the internal organization;
  • Inviting volunteers and external parties to meetings and gatherings, and arranging the physical location (if necessary);
  • Preparing the agenda and documents for all meetings, including board meetings, general meetings and location manager meetings. You also take care of the report;
  • Keeping track of all action points and their status in a complete overview. You also help with the implementation of the actions;
  • You ensure that all important letters, emails or other documents are stored centrally and digitally so that we keep our internal administration in order;
  • Monitor processes, procedures and implementation of decisions;
  • Keeping our internal and external contact list up to date;
  • You will be registered as secretary of the foundation with the Chamber of Commerce.

We are looking for:

  • Someone who recognizes themselves in and acts according to our core values: Reliable, helpful and committed;
  • You are connecting, social, have good communication skills and are customer-friendly.
  • You can work independently and in a team.
  • You are familiar with the office package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and with Dropbox and WhatsApp;
  • Someone with a heart for pet welfare;
  • Someone with flexible availability (everything in consultation);
  • Someone for a longer period of time (at least 6 months);
  • Someone with a lot of passion and 'hands-on' commitment.

What do we offer you?

  • A great and rewarding volunteer position at a great foundation with committed volunteers;
  • Annual outings, presents and meetings;
  • You can follow interesting courses and training for free through the Dierenlot academy and other volunteer organizations;
  • You are collectively insured through the municipality.

About Stichting Dierenvoedselbank Vallei & Veluwe

Animal Food Bank Vallei en Veluwe is a charity that has been committed to helping people in that region who live below the poverty line with their pet(s) since 2016, and who are therefore unable to fully feed and care for their pet(s). A group that often lives in social isolation and for whom the pet is of great emotional value.

We provide additional pet food and pet supplies so that owners can keep and care for their pet responsibly. In addition, we help our customers with advice, information and education, and we mediate where necessary.

With a helpful, reliable and committed team of volunteers, we work regionally from our distribution locations in Wageningen, Ede, Renkum, Rhenen and Veenendaal. As a result, more than 500 times a separation for financial reasons between owner and pet has been prevented in recent years. Animal Food Bank Vallei en Veluwe is not for profit, but does have ANBI status.
