You are the right-hand man of the board members and a linchpin within the organization.Detailed description
As a board assistant, you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and supporting the board with (mostly digital/administrative) tasks such as contact with external parties, online vacancy management, submitting internal and external questions, but also thinking along about strategic matters, policy, and organizational professionalization and innovation. You are the right hand of the board members and a spider in the web within the organization.
In this key role, you enable the board to focus on the main points and matters with the highest priority. You are very strong in organizing, prioritising and managing a wide range of internal and external issues. You participate in all consultations as much as possible, advising the board where necessary and subsequently helping to implement decisions and action points. You also have a smooth pen because you translate the plans to paper.
Furthermore, you are curious about new developments in the field of animal food banks in the Netherlands and pet welfare in general. In this, you provide the organization with solicited and unsolicited advice. Within this function, you have a lot of freedom and there is a lot of room to implement your new ideas together with the board within the foundation.
What are your responsibilities?
- Identifying important and/or potentially interesting developments within the industry and field of work and then translating these into the internal organization;
- Thinking along and advising the board on strategic issues. For example in the areas of policy, organisation and strategy;
- Supporting the board with all kinds of tasks, such as responding to incoming emails, online vacancy management, carrying out action points or decisions at meetings;
- Writing letters and other documents on behalf of the organization. For example, the policy plan, annual report or project plans;
- Monitoring processes, procedures and implementation of decisions.
We are looking for:

- Someone with flexible availability (everything in consultation);
- Someone for a longer period of time (at least 6 months);

About Stichting Dierenvoedselbank Vallei & Veluwe
We provide additional pet food and pet supplies so that owners can keep and care for their pet responsibly. In addition, we help our customers with advice, information and education, and we mediate where necessary.
With a helpful, reliable and committed team of volunteers, we work regionally from our distribution locations in Wageningen, Ede, Renkum, Rhenen and Veenendaal. As a result, more than 500 times a separation for financial reasons between owner and pet has been prevented in recent years. Animal Food Bank Vallei en Veluwe is not for profit, but does have ANBI status.
