Even in times of war, not everything is allowed. There are rules to prevent and limit human suffering. This is the core of the Humanitarian Law of War. Are you interested in this topic? Would you like to provide information about it? Then we are looking for you as a new Humanitarian Law of War spokesperson in the North Holland region!
Traditionally, the Red Cross has been the guardian and promoter of the International Humanitarian Law of War. One of its tasks is to ensure that as many people as possible acquire knowledge of this law. Because knowledge of the rules can prevent violations in the future. This applies in times of war, but also when there is peace.
What are you going to do?
- Together with a colleague, you provide information on International Humanitarian Law to various target groups; you give four or more guest lectures per year, each guest lecture lasting approximately two hours
- Together with your colleague and the coordinator you prepare the guest lessons
- Trainings given are discussed with fellow counselors and the coordinator; any bottlenecks are reported
Who are you?
- You have strong communication skills and have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
- You enjoy providing information and you are not afraid to stand in front of a group
- Flexibility in days and times is possible for you
The vacancy is open for the entire region of North Holland. The region of North Holland is Haarlem and surroundings, Alkmaar and surroundings, Hoorn and surroundings and Purmerend and surroundings. You will be placed in a pool of advisers and you will preferably be deployed in or close to your own place of residence.
