Summary

Do you keep a cool head in times when others may no longer be able to and do you enjoy helping emergency services (police, ambulance, fire brigade)?

Detailed description

Do you keep a cool head in times when others may not be able to and do you enjoy supporting emergency services (police, ambulance, fire brigade) by taking care of slightly injured victims? Then we are looking for you!

Within the Red Cross we have emergency teams that go to large or small calamities with flashing lights and sirens. You will be called by means of a pager when a calamity has occurred where the emergency team is needed. During the incident, the emergency team treats the slightly injured patients, so that the ambulance staff has their hands free for the more seriously injured patients. Our team in Kennemerland could use some extra hands and that is why we are looking for:

Kennemerland Emergency Aid Team Members (volunteer)

Please note: this is a vacancy that you can progress to from an event first responder. Do you already have this position? Then you can respond to the vacancy directly. Please mention this in your application. Are you not yet an event first responder or are you not yet a volunteer at the Red Cross, but do you think this would be fun to do? Then read the steps that must be completed before you can become an emergency response team member at the bottom of the vacancy text*.

You are part of a team that is always deployed with at least six team members, a driver and a team leader. So you are never alone for a challenge.

What are you going to do?

· You receive the slightly injured victims and together with your team you perform extensive first aid. You are also responsible for signaling injuries and/or conditions for which nurses or other medical professionals should be consulted and refer them to them.

Who are you?

· You are proficient in Dutch, both spoken and written (B2 level)

· You are a real team player, flexible, stress-resistant and have strong communication skills

· For this position you must be physically able to perform all emergency response tasks

· You are willing to obtain the necessary certificates (including an extensive first aid diploma) and to follow the training courses (training courses usually take place in the evenings)

· You live in the Kennemerland district. It is an advantage if you can be at one of our four collection locations within 30 minutes: Ikea Haarlem-Zuid, the ice rink in Haarlem, the parking lot of Mes&Vork in Hoofddorp and/or the Red Cross building in Velsen.

What do we offer?

As an emergency team member you contribute to the work of the Red Cross. That gives a good feeling!

You will have the opportunity to develop your talents and work with motivated and enthusiastic volunteers and employees. The Red Cross will reimburse travel and expenses incurred and will ensure that you are insured during the execution of your work.

The Red Cross also provides courses and/or training for the purpose of performing the function. At the Red Cross we work according to the basic principles and our code of conduct.

*Are you not yet an event first responder or a volunteer at the Red Cross, but does this vacancy appeal to you?

To become an emergency response team member, a few steps need to be taken before you can get started. First, you need to obtain an extensive first aid certificate. Then you go through various e-modules event response, followed by gaining practical experience. After that, you can gradually grow into the emergency response team. More information can be provided during the job interview.

Are you enthusiastic about this vacancy and do you want to respond immediately? Press the application button.

We hope to meet you soon!
