Family Support Volunteers

Parents of children with care-intensive children are often so busy providing loving care and attention to these children that they almost never have time and energy for anything else. As a volunteer you can make a difference by doing something fun with the child. This gives parents the space to do something themselves, or stay nearby but have some time for themselves. Such a breather ensures that parents are better able to care for their child, there is more peace and relaxation at home.

Examples of requests for help are;

– Relieve a mother's burden by doing activities with her children that need special attention, such as going to the playground or playing games.

– Relieve the burden on parents of a daughter with Down syndrome by babysitting the daughter.

– To give a father some relief by doing activities one afternoon a week with his 8-year-old son with autism.

You do not have to be a professional, but you must have an affinity with care-intensive children and their parents. Together we look at your qualities and which request for assistance best suits you.

We connect people who need help or care with Apeldoorners who would like to do something for others. We also support people in Apeldoorn and surrounding villages who care for a family member or friend long-term. Doing something voluntarily for someone else is nice. Together we can achieve a lot!
