Invitation for volunteers
On Wednesday evening, June 25, we will organize a information session about Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) for volunteers.
As a volunteer you will meet many people. Among them may be people with NAH. Perhaps someone from your immediate environment. Brain damage can occur at birth, but also as a result of, for example, a stroke, accident, tumor, cardiac arrest, cerebral hemorrhage or surgery. Life changes drastically for that person and their loved ones. You do not always recognize that someone has NAH. Knowledge about recognizing and dealing with people with NAH can help you to understand the other person better and to make communication run more smoothly. Which allows someone with NAH to participate as much as possible in society. Because participating, belonging, using your talents, everyone wants. It is estimated that more than 6,500 people in Apeldoorn live with NAH.
Trainer Amanda explains about NAH. Tamara talks about her life with NAH and what she organizes. Theater group Wirwar plays a number of scenes about living with NAH. Players from Wirwar have NAH and show in a moving, confronting and humorous way what their life with brain damage looks like. Of course there is also room for your questions.
There is a maximum of 20 participants, so sign up quickly.
