Summary
Fancy a small (intercultural) adventure in your own city? Then become a collaborator! You will help a refugee who has difficulty learning the language with integration.Detailed description
What are you going to do?
You will do volunteer work together with a refugee. Volunteer work that you both enjoy! You are the bridge between the status holder and the organization. You demonstrate the volunteer work and then you do it together. You learn the Dutch necessary for the job. In this way, the status holder learns the work culture in the Netherlands and the Dutch that is necessary. Gradually you withdraw more and more until the status holder can do it alone.
Background
The new integration law has been in effect since 2022. Status holders who have difficulty learning the language can complete their integration via the so-called Z route. To this end, they take language lessons and participate in social activities, including volunteer work.
Because this group needs more guidance to do volunteer work, Vluchtelingenwerk and the Volunteer Center have jointly launched the 'Participate? 'Working buddy' started.
