Summary

Together with a refugee who has difficulty learning the language, selling stuff at the nicest shop in Wageningen.

Detailed description

You will be staffing the store at Kadolokaal together with a young woman. You open the store and speak to customers. You operate the cash register and wrap the presents. This young woman takes Dutch language lessons 3 times a week. You support her in her work and learn the Dutch language as she goes.

The work is on Saturday mornings from 9:45 am to 12:15 pm.

Integration

Status holders, i.e. refugees who are allowed to stay in our country, can obtain their integration by, in addition to taking language lessons, also doing social activities such as volunteer work.

You are the bridge between the refugee and the organization. The co-worker linked to this woman is on holiday in May. If you like it, you can take this from her. Or guide this young woman as a duo.

Who are we looking for?

● You are creative in working with people who do not yet speak Dutch (well).

● You can follow the other person: you are patient, you sense the other person's pace and deal with unexpected and unknown situations in a relaxed manner.

● You respect and can connect with the other person's habits, attitude and culture.

What do we have to offer you?

● You will be well trained and you can always contact the work supervisor and the cultural connectors of Vluchtelingenwerk.

● You gain relevant work experience with refugees in a social organization.

● Your travel and/or expenses will be reimbursed. You are insured during working hours.
