Museum cafe
In the museum café we sell fresh, delicious and honest products. We are looking for a few volunteers to support our permanent employees. At the moment it is all about staffing the Take Away. You work on weekends and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. During the week, the working hours are in principle from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
What are you going to do?
You serve the guests friendly and inform them about the range.
You prepare the hot drinks.
You complete products.
You put the finishing touches to dishes.
You ensure the correct payment of the order.
You ensure hygiene and a clean work area.
You keep the terrace neat and clean.
You contribute to a hospitable atmosphere.
What do you bring?
You are a go-getter with a passion for food and drink.
Service and hospitality are self-evident for you, you will put a smile on the face of the visitors of the Muiderslot.
You speak good Dutch and you manage in English.
Do not turn your hand for unexpected circumstances; you come up with a solution.
You work orderly and precisely and ensure that the workplace always looks neat and hygienic.
You are available at least half a day per week, sometimes also on weekends, public holidays and school holidays (because those are the days when the castle is busy).

The Muiderslot was built in 1285 and has been a national museum since 1878. The assignment is to manage, preserve and open the castle, collection and gardens to the public. The Muiderslot is a place where there is much to do, to discover and to enjoy for a wide audience from home and abroad. But…. we want more! We are proud that we are a national museum: everyone's for everyone. This means that we have something to offer for different people and develop projects together with many different people. It also means getting off the beaten track.
VOLUNTEER FUNCTIONS IN THE MUIDERSLOT:
* Hostess / host: receiving and guiding visitors, providing audio tours and answering questions.
* Museum shop: advise on and sell shop items. Keeping the shop tidy and indicating the range
* Education: receiving and guiding (school) groups.
* Events: support at events.
* Garden: maintaining the castle gardens and informing visitors about the gardens.
* Flower decoration: maintain the flower beds in the gardens and make flower decorations from it.
* Museum collection maintenance: helping to manage and present the museum collection.
* Odd jobs: doing odd jobs in and around the castle and helping with (the construction of) events.
