Do you ensure that our emergency response team is ready in times of need and are you administratively strong? Then we are looking for you as our new head of the emergency response team in Kennemerland.
Within the Red Cross we have emergency teams that go to large or small calamities with flashing lights and sirens. You will be called by means of a pager when a calamity has occurred where the emergency team is needed. In the event of an incident, the emergency team treats the slightly injured patients, so that the ambulance staff has their hands free for the more seriously injured patients. As head of the emergency team, you manage the emergency team in the cold phase. In the warm phase, you are involved but not directly managing.
What are you going to do?
- You contribute to the quality, readiness and deployability of the emergency response team by ensuring that your team is complete, motivated and trained.
- Exercises and training are set up by you (together with the emergency response coordinator)
- You monitor the established procedures during exercises and deployments, you signal bottlenecks, for example during an exercise or by evaluating a deployment, and you report these to the coordinator. Together you build on progress in the emergency response team
- If necessary, you will be present in the action center during a deployment, where you will have a say at the operational level with the safety region, ambulance service and other chain partners
What do we ask of you?
A requirement for this position is that you have experience with event emergency services at the Red Cross or have knowledge of crisis management through, for example, work experience or training.
- You have strong communication skills and you have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
- You are a connecting team player, can make independent decisions and dare to take the lead
- You are in possession of a first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one
- At a tactical level you can represent the organization and the emergency response team; you are the calling card of the Red Cross
- You are flexible in your deployment (on average 4 hours per week) and you live in Kennemerland
- Preferably you have a flexible working environment that allows you to be easily deployed in times of emergency, with the permission of your employer.
What do we offer you?
As a volunteer, you contribute to the work of the Red Cross. That feels good! You get the chance to develop your talents because the Red Cross provides courses and/or training for the purpose of performing the function. The Red Cross reimburses travel and expenses incurred and ensures that you are insured during the performance of your work. At the Red Cross, we work according to the basic principles and our code of conduct.
