We are looking for a volunteer to visit one of our residential groups for half a day (morning or afternoon) to meet the clients.
Detailed description
We are looking for a volunteer for one of our residential groups who can come by for a half-day (morning or afternoon) once a week or every two weeks to meet the clients.
You literally meet clients at the kitchen table. You'll naturally see who's coming and what they're interested in, whether it's a chat, a game, a walk, or an outing with one client. No two days are the same, and the client rotation varies each time.
This is you
You're open-minded. You're sociable and flexible, and you enjoy simply letting things happen, without a fixed plan for how the day will be structured. You can respond to the client's needs on the spot.
You can empathize with others without judgment. You're trustworthy and able to establish positive relationships with our clients. You naturally engage and inspire our clients. When necessary, you can also be clear and set boundaries.
You are available on Thursdays, Fridays, or weekends, preferably one half-day per week (2 to 4 hours). Possession of a driver's license and/or a car is a plus.
How do we proceed?
After you register, we'll have an introductory meeting where we'd love to hear from you about who you are, what your hobbies are, and what makes you happy. If we think we can be of assistance to each other, we'll schedule a meeting with your regular contact person who works at the property in question.

IrisZorg is there for young and old and for all layers of the population. We are there for people who have problems in the field of finances, relationships, work or (mental) health. Usually in combination with an addiction and/or (imminent) homelessness. We support clients towards recovery from integral addiction treatment and social counseling. We can use your help as a volunteer with that.
As a volunteer at IrisZorg you make meaningful contact with people with a vulnerable and special background. We see the people behind the addiction, homelessness and other problems.
