Take action for the Red Cross

Do you enjoy giving guest lessons in primary education, do you have some time available during the week and would you like to contribute to a social organization? Then we are looking for you!

Our team has room for guest teachers who provide educational activities together with other volunteers. The activities developed by the Red Cross for primary schools cover topics such as drought, floods, extreme heat and first aid.

The education team is engaged in giving guest lessons and activities with the aim of increasing respect, self-reliance and willingness to help among as many children and young people as possible.

What are you going to do?

You will provide one or more of the following types of lessons: “Savage World” (about natural disasters), “Help! First aid skills for you” and the Band-Aid Race. For an impression of our guest lessons, visit our website: teaching materials for primary education

· You provide at least 8 guest lessons per year in your region.

· You give lessons at primary schools, together with a fellow volunteer.

Who are you?

· You enjoy teaching and have an affinity with children aged 4-12.

· You are sufficiently available during school hours.

· You are digitally skilled; Online teaching materials are used in the lessons.

· You endorse the seven basic principles of the Red Cross.

What can you expect from us?

To familiarize yourself with the teaching material and our ideas, you first follow some online modules, a training course on the guest lecture(s) and, depending on your education and experience, possibly a didactics course. Regional meetings take place every quarter with the other volunteers from the team. The Red Cross offers a travel allowance and a Certificate of Good Conduct will be requested for this position.
